Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone - 2001 Adventures of J.K. Rowlings young wizard.
The film was set in many mystical locations including the cloisters at Gloucester Cathedral. The best scenes in the film of the cloisters are when Harry fights the troll in the girl's toilets and the scene when Harry and his Gryffindor class mates are led to their dorm for the first time. The Pupils of Kings School in Gloucester were used for extras in the movie, you see them exiting the cloisters and entering the Cloister garden in the film.

Outlaw - 2007 – A new movie which has partly been filmed in the streets of Gloucester about a group of people that take the law into their own hands and try to right what they see as wrongs in the UK today. Starring Sean Bean and Dannie Dyer

Martin Chuzzlewit - 1994 The main theme is selfishness, portrayed in a satirical fashion using all the members of the Chuzzlewit family. The novel is notable for one of Dickens' great villains , Seth Pecksniff, and the nurse Mrs. Gamp.

Amazing Grace - 2007 Based on the true story of William Wilberforce, a British statesman and reformer from the early part of the 19th century. Starring Ioan Gruffudd and Albert Finney.
