The Choir - This mini-series, based on Joanna Trollope's novel, explores the internal politics and scandals of a British cathedral choir school.

Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone - 2001 Adventures of J.K. Rowlings young wizard.

The film was set in many mystical locations including the cloisters at Gloucester Cathedral. The best scenes in the film of the cloisters are when Harry fights the troll in the girl's toilets and the scene when Harry and his Gryffindor class mates are led to their dorm for the first time. The Pupils of Kings School in Gloucester were used for extras in the movie, you see them exiting the cloisters and entering the Cloister garden in the film.

Berkeley Square - 1997 Costume drama series about three nannies in Edwardian England.

Animal Ark – 1997 Based on the popular book series by Lucy Daniels starring vet's daughter Mandy Hope and her best friend James Hunter. They both love animals and together they go through many adventures rescuing animals in the home village of Welford .

These Foolish Things - 2004 filmed at the Olympus Theatre, Barton Street . Starring Lauren Bacall and Anjelica Huston A young actress seeks to follow in her famous mother's footsteps.

Outlaw - 2007 – A new movie which has partly been filmed in the streets of Gloucester about a group of people that take the law into their own hands and try to right what they see as wrongs in the UK today. Starring Sean Bean and Dannie Dyer

Martin Chuzzlewit - 1994 The main theme is selfishness, portrayed in a satirical fashion using all the members of the Chuzzlewit family. The novel is notable for one of Dickens' great villains , Seth Pecksniff, and the nurse Mrs. Gamp.

The Onedin Line - 1972 Series about a young man's rise to wealth and power through the establishing of his own shipping line in the late 19 th Century.

Buffalo Girls - 1995 In the last days of the Wild West, Calamity Jane works as a mule skinner for Custer, has a fling with Bill Hickok, and tries to reclaim her daughter when she travels to London with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Meanwhile, her best friend, Dora DuFran, a whorehouse madam, deals with domestic and romantic entanglements.

Vanity Fair - 1998 The story of Becky Sharp - determined to scale the heights of society at any cost.

Maurice - 1987 The life of a Cambridge homosexual - from a semi -autobiographical novel on E M Forster.

Hannay - 1988 - 89 Adventures of John Buchan's officer-adventurer, Richard Hannay starring Robert Powell made famous by Robert Donat in The Thirty Nine Steps.

Amazing Grace - 2007 Based on the true story of William Wilberforce, a British statesman and reformer from the early part of the 19th century. Starring Ioan Gruffudd and Albert Finney.
